Dreamforce 2024 Recap: AI, Security, and Accessibility

HIKE2

With over 45,000 Trailblazers gathered in San Francisco and millions more tuning in via Salesforce+, the excitement for Dreamforce 2024 was palpable as the world rallied around Salesforce’s annual show. After so much preparation and planning, it’s a little surreal that the event is now officially in the rearview mirror.

Our team had big plans this year, suffering no shortage of ambition as we outlined what the HIKE2 Lodge at Dreamforce (our own space just a short walk from the Moscone Center) would be. Now that the dust has settled and the clarity of hindsight is upon us, we are thrilled with how our team’s work came together in such a successful way.

After taking some time to get home, rest, and debrief, we wanted to share some of our favorite moments from the event of the year. Let’s get to it!

Agentforce: A New Era of AI

Agentforce was absolutely the belle of the Dreamforce ball, making a spectacular debut during the keynote. This new suite of autonomous AI agents is poised to revolutionize how companies approach service, sales, marketing, and commerce.

We hosted a relevant event entitled The Application, Innovation, and Disruption of AI and were honored to have the esteemed Claudio Moraes, Partner Success Director + AI Lead at Salesforce, join us. When asked about how AI will tangibly affect our near-future business world, Claudio said: “We are now getting into the digital employee. They’re going to be able to do things by themselves. They’re going to have roles and jobs to do.”

The possibilities of what Agentforce could bring to our clients, especially those with sizable customer-facing support teams, are very exciting. As more details roll out from Salesforce in the coming weeks, we’re keeping a close eye on how this innovation will transform service interactions and operational efficiency in highly regulated industries.

GRC: The New Acronym to Know

We live in a business world that is forced to be hyper focused on data and security like never before. This positions Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) as undeniably important. Dreamforce offered many sessions that touched on various aspects of GRC, and HIKE2 featured a comprehensive look at how to Align Your Salesforce Platform to Your GRC Security Needs, led by Red Argyle CEO Garry Polmatter.

Garry stressed how organizations with a strong GRC focus can connect their risk management and regulatory compliance efforts, while those lacking it are exposed to significant threats. He shared practical steps to ensure compliance, focusing on how business drivers and regulations should shape a security plan.

Salesforce: The Unsung Hero of Accessibility

With a world renowned accessibility team and laser-focus on inclusion for all, Salesforce is considered to be “the most accessible technology system in the world” by those who know best.

HIKE2 hosted a session called Compliance Driven Innovation: Advancing Accessibility, featuring Golden Hoodie recipient Mike Hess, Founder and Executive Director at the Blind Institute of Technology. When asked where the world of accessibility is heading, Mike commented that while Salesforce is already leading the charge, other companies will have no choice but to play catch up. He shared, “My prediction is that within a generation, people with disabilities will absolutely be part of the fabric of every organization in the Fortune 10,000.”

Mike and his fellow panelists shared real-world stories that brought the topic to life, offering practical insights into the latest trends and tools that companies can use to stay compliant. This session was a refreshing dive into how changing regulations and corporate policies are shaping the future of inclusivity.

The HIKE2 Lodge at Dreamforce

Our lodge at Dreamforce was truly a standout event among the noise, attracting 700+ registrants and creating a vibrant, engaging atmosphere that welcomed everyone. We hosted two lively “A Taste of San Francisco” happy hours, eight thought leadership sessions featuring top experts in legal and other highly regulated industries, plus breakfast and lunch roundtables with the freshest food and drinks in town (a far cry from the boxed lunches at Moscone). We offered premium swag, with HIKE2’s soft-as-butter hoodies and signature s’mores Squishies that quickly become coveted items among attendees.

The HIKE2 team is proud to have created a not-to-be-missed homebase for the Salesforce community that provided excellent opportunities for learning and leisure. If you couldn’t make it, watch some of the highlights:

So, What’s Next From Here?

With our collective company foot remaining firmly on the gas, we are already ideating on what next year’s Dreamforce will bring. In the meanwhile, we are intently focused on how we can use Salesforce, and other emerging technologies, to solve our clients’ business problems. There is a great amount of work to be done, and we at HIKE2 intend to be at the forefront of innovation in 2025 and beyond.
